When you have extremely dry skin, you will eventually end up dealing with the problem of rough and cracked heels. The skin of the heels is naturally tough as opposed to other areas of the body, but dry skin can wreak havoc because the heels also have to bear your weight. When weight is placed on dry heels, they can crack and even start bleeding. The surface of the skin begins to peel as it becomes uneven. Glycerin and Rosewater

Glycerin is a very effective moisturizer and its moisturizing effects can be increased by rosewater. You can create a foot soak by some warm water, one teaspoon of salt, juice from half a lemon, three-fourth part rosewater and one-fourth part glycerin. For 20 minutes, you should soak your feet in the mixture and then rub the feet gently with the pumice stone for removing dead skin cells. Apply a thick moisturizer after drying your skin.

Oil Massage

As they are natural moisturizers, oils can serve as an effective remedy for dry heels. You can mix several moisturizing oils and massage them on your heels for softening the skin. Some of the oils that you can use are almond oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, sesame oil and olive oil. Massage your heels for about 10 minutes with the oil and then put on thick cotton socks for retaining the moisture of the oil. You can use this remedy before going to bed.

Honey and Milk Exfoliator

Honey and milk are natural moisturizers and the former also has some antibacterial properties. Take two cups of milk and one cup of organic honey and combine them thoroughly in a basin. Soak your feet in this mixture for softening your skin. You can warm the milk slightly for your comfort, but don’t heat it because hot liquids can dry your skin even further.

Rice Flour Scrub

This can work as an excellent exfoliator, which is beneficial for sloughing off the dead skin cells and paving the way for smooth heels. You need a few drops of olive oil, two teaspoons of honey, two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, three tablespoons of rice flour and some warm water for creating a foot soak. Soaking for fifteen minutes is going to give you some great results.

Jojoba Oil and Oatmeal

Both these ingredients work as moisturizers and are also beneficial for the overall health of the skin. Take some jojoba oil and one tablespoon of oatmeal powder, which will form a thick paste. Apply this to your heels and apply it for half an hour. Rinse it off with warm water, dry the skin and apply some moisturizer.
