Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two Review

The Eighth Story. Nineteen Years Later

Based on the original new story written by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne, is the 8th story in the Harry Potter series. It is the very first official Harry Potter story that has been presented on the stage. On July 30, 2016, the play received its world premiere in West End, London.

It had always been difficult being Harry Potter. Now, it’s even more difficult as he is an overworked employee at the Ministry of Magic, a dutiful husband and a father of three school-going kids.

While Harry Potter grapples with something from his past that refuses to stay behind the passed time, Albus, his youngest son, has to struggle with the burden of a family legacy that he had never wished for. As the present and past fuse ominously, both the son and father get to know the uncomfortable reality: “Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

Harry might be the cursed child as the title of the book suggests, and so could Albus be, who keeps wondering how he must live up to his dad’s accomplishments. ON the other hand, Scorpius feels cursed as well. He has lost his mom and cannot tamp down the uncomfortable rumors about his ancestry. The entire team of characters feel cursed while intelligence reports signal that the Voldemort, or some trace of his, might return. The scar on Harry’s forehead, from the lightning bolt, is beginning to hurt too.
